Generic/functional benchmarking looks for comparison against organizations or sectors performing parallel activities or facing comparable problems, not essentially in the same industry (Breiter and Kline, 1995; Cook, 1995). Thus the benchmarking of small hospitality/tourism businesses may possibly involve comparison with other such businesses, or with a certain service characteristic such as customer care, in another business segment, such as airlines. Benchmarking in the hospitality industry Organizations have to attain an overall level of performance in order to be competitive. Categorization and grading schemes and awards such as IiP and Excellence through People can act as external enablers that circuitously sway the performance level of an organization as a yield. All these grading and award systems can be acknowledged as benchmarks signifying how businesses execute against a variety of standards. In theory, grading schemes create universal benchmark standards against which the individual small businesses are evaluated. Young Wart is the adopted son of a nobleman when he meets Merlyn, a magician, who takes him on many adventures, turning him into several different animals and teaching him skills, both mental and physical. Wart learns to treat people with respect and kindness. Soon after, Wart pulls a magical sword from a stone, which proves him the rightful king of England. Merlyn, who knew this from the start, advises Wart-now called Arthur- on how to be a good king. What Arthur really wants to do is end the chaos that passes for law in his country. He wants his men-the knights of the round table- to help defenseless people and prevent the rich and strong from simply dominating everyone. Many young knights love the chivalrous idea and admire Arthur. Arthur's wife Guenever has an affair with one of Arthur's best knights, Lancelot. Since he is a just king, Arthur feels obligated to persecute them for adultery and treason. This went along with Mordred's plan to upset the court and, since he was the only son of Arthur (not with Guenever however), to become King of England. Lancelot kills Gareth, Gaheris, and Agravaine, all knights of the Roundtable. Mordred convinces a surviving knight, Gawaine that Lancelot killed them out of his own hatred of England. Taylor Swift “Love Story” Analysis

The song â€Å"Love Story† was written and sung by Taylor Swift. It was published on September 12, 2008. Throughout â€Å"Love Story†, Taylor Swift, uses many poetic devices in the narrative in order to make the whole story and lyrics more enhanced as a whole.She creates an allusion comparing her love for a guy and that of Romeo and Juliet. In Romeo and Juliet, they are banned from seeing each other by their parents and they are willing to die in order to be together. Similarly, Taylor recounts the time she was told not to see the man she loved. So in her song, she compares this to Romeo and Juliet.Swift also used metaphors in â€Å"Love Story†. She says, â€Å"Cause you were Romeo, I was a scarlet letter†. She is comparing herself to a scarlet letter but there is also a relation between the scarlet letter and the story of Romeo and Juliet.They both tell the story of true love but they both involve misfortune. Another metaphor in this song is when Swift sa ys, â€Å"That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles.† She is comparing the man she loves to Romeo. He was not actually Romeo, but just someone who was calling for her attention and love.Another poetic device Taylor Swift used is imagery. After a flash back to the time she met the man she loves, Swift recalls seeing â€Å"the lights†¦ the party, the ball gowns† and seeing him â€Å"make your way through the crowd and say hello†. Then it is also at the end of the song when he proposes to her she says, â€Å"He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring†.Taylor Swift is able to evoke an image in the imagination of the listener by using descriptive language. Also, the audience members that have been in similar situations are able to connect with the song and the circumstances. Overall, Taylor Swift’s elegant use of poetic devices enhances the lyrics of â€Å"Love Story†.

Why do we (as a society) need a criminal justice system? Introduction As a society there is need for a criminal justice system, as it is essential to have laws throughout the population. We have these laws so people cannot use money or power to benefit themselves. The laws also establish that each person should understand their and everyone else’s rights and obligations within the community. The criminal justice system, is a system of laws and rulings which protect community members and their property.
